An approach to place
I design homes, small public buildings and interiors that are calm, generous with daylight and honest about how they are made.
Every project starts on site: walking it at different times of day, drawing the sun, the views and the way people already move through it. From there we work in physical models and simple drawings until the plan feels inevitable.
I work with a small group of engineers and builders I trust, and stay involved through construction so the details survive.

A small open pavilion for markets, concerts and shelter, with a cantilevered roof on slender steel columns and a stepped timber floor that doubles as seating.

Stone Barn Conversion
A ruined granite barn turned into a home and studio, keeping the walls as found and setting a light timber structure inside them.
